You must have heard from so many people that breakfast is the most important meal of your day. However, this is not how things work for everyone. Although it is valid for most people, others do better when they skip breakfast. Moreover, eating unhealthy breakfast is even worse. A healthy breakfast includes proteins, fiber, and healthy fats. It gives you energy and keeps you satiated. On the other hand, an unhealthy breakfast makes you feel sluggish, gain weight, and increase your risk of diseases. Here are some of the foods that you should not eat in the morning:
PANCAKES AND WAFFLES
They are popular choices for weekend breakfasts at home or most probably in restaurants. Pancakes and waffles comprise flour, eggs, sugar, and milk. They can be made somewhat differently to achieve a different shape and texture. Although, they have more protein than some food items. These food items are high in refined flour. In addition to that, waffles and pancakes are typically topped with maple syrup and whipped cream that is again high in sugar. According to the American Heart Association, most people consume 2–3 times the prescribed limit for added sugar.
Fruit juice is one of the worst choices you can make as a healthy breakfast option. Some packed fruit juices are sweetened with sugar or high fructose syrup and contain very little nutrients. High sugar levels raise your risk of obesity, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, and additional diseases. Even 100% fruit juice contains a lot of sugar. Drinking large amounts of fruit juice can have the same impacts on your weight and well-being as drinking sugar-sweetened beverages.
